This venue has two reed lined reservoirs set in open countryside on Mersea Island, The North Reservoir is stocked mainly with carp from 6lb to 20lb along with a small number of silver fish.
The South Reservoir has only a few carp (although they are reported to be a reasonable size) with the main stock being made up of Bream, Tench, Roach and Rudd.
NOTE: The many of the swims are platforms and consequently unsuitable for bank sticks, Therefore the use of seatboxes or rod pods is recommended when fishing these swims.
RESTRICTIONS
- No Fires of any form are permitted
- Junior members under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a senior member
- Maximum of TWO rods per person - throughout the year
- Fishing from permanent pegs only
DIRECTIONS
From Colchester take the B1025 to West Mersea, pass over the Strood and proceed to the right past the East mersea turning. You will find a lay-by on the left (where you can park) when completed you will be able to proceed a further 150 metres where the entrance to the Car Park is to be located. WARNING
Members may park in the Lay-by but should be aware that when the Strood floods at high tide so does the Lay-by.
Parking:
Cars can park in the lay-bye until the new car park has been created, This car Park will be kept locked using the Society Padlock.
