Fishing starts on the main river below the Anchor Pub, and runs down to Nayland Common on the Suffolk bank. On the Essex bank, fishing also includes the flood relief channel
The start of this stretch is streamy becoming progressively slower further down. Dace, Chub, Roach and Pike are all present, along with some barbel.

Fishing is not allowed from the car park of The Anchor public house, nor from Nayland Common land.

Nayland Village

Click here to see the AERIAL MAP Take the A134 to Nayland, turning right into the village straight after the A134 crosses the river. 200 yards along, on the right hand side is a layby. Park here for both the main river and the flood channel. The channel is 10 yards away, the river 100 yards away.
