New member needs a few tips

Postby Mister-Big » Wed Mar 22, 2006 9:35 pm

I joined Caps for the first time this year and so far have fished Prestons just the once last week.

Ive walked Layer, Houchins, Bov 1 and 2 and found everybody very helpful and friendly.

The general opinion is that most of the venues get very busy at weekends ( downside of having good venues i guess)

Im after a few tips of which venues to fish for carp and then which venues for general float fishing, again they will be day sessions only.

Im looking for the best water that im more likely to catch during a day and not too worried about specimen weights.

I know people might be reluctant to give away hard learnt tips but any advice would be very welcome.

Thanks

Mart

If you just want to catch fish then take a trip down to Great Notley Park in Braintree. As soon as the weather turns you will be able to bag up on Roach, Rudd, Perch, skimmers, Crucian and Tench and all you need is a pint or two of Red Maggot and a pint of Hemp, once you've got the going try the odd bit of sweetcorm/luncheon meat.

When the weather gets warmer (hopefully soon) fish just off the Lily Pads with an insert waggler in roughly 2 - 3 foot of water and add the odd bit of Hemp now and then and simply enjoy.........
