Going on my own experience the last time I fished the water park, fish fell to a whole array of baits and methods.
Live-baits and artificals caught plenty(mainly jacks thou)with the better fish prefuring fresh sea-deadbaits over the shop brought ones.
It does get busy there at weekends but the bailif,s are helpful in giving advice about the place and the banks are well kepted.
Hope this helps,where-ever you go,best of luck or skill :) .
