Haven't fished it for about 4 years but when i did we always used to fish the end directly opposite the end from where you launch the boats - North arm i think. Used to park in the carpark near the hotel.
Used to do fairly well, fish normally caught fairly close in,slighty popped up from the bottom or sunk float pat rigs. Only ever fished deadbaits.
Two mates had a 32 and 36 respectively. I struggled a bit and only had them to 18.
Been a while though and i haven't been there for ages so things may have changed.
thanks

Done quite well when we fished from boats around the tower and trout pens but obviously they are no longer there. Would still think the tower is a good starting point though. I once lost a very big fish from near the tower that took a Big S plug. Got it to the boat, easy 25+ but one final shake of it's head and it was gone!!
Same mate that had a 32 from the North arm had a 36.5 from the tower on a dead.
All this talk of Ardleigh pike is starting to inspire me!!

Used to have a bucket inside an old nash rucksack. You would of thought that the aerator buzzing away would have given us away though!!
Deads always produced the bigger fish though

Can't possibly comment but i never fished for anything but pike at ardleigh!!
Had a few fish on lures but perch where normally pretty aggressive and would get in before the pike. Never tried trolling.
Wouldn't personally bother with lives if i was to fish it again. Lures and deads would be enough for me.
thanks
