While we're at it, why is the sky blue and why is it so cold?

Being serious now, i dont know the answer to your question but i will hazard a guess. This should start once upon a time but hear me out....

When they were digging the pit they found remains of an elephant or mamoth! I have just google my theroy and found this:

"During the last million years, a series of very cold
periods, interspersed with warmer ones,
transformed Northern Europe. Animal life reflected
these climatic changes, with animals like elephants
and hippopotamus being present during warmer
times and woolly mammoth and woolly rhinoceros
during colder ones. Alongside these animals human
beings started to enter the landscape. Some of the
earliest clear evidence of humans in this area dates
to around 200,000 years ago. A number of very
important sites of this period are known in the area
such as at Mersea, Marks Tey and Clacton."

So i could easily be correct.

Let us know if you find out.
