Inworth used to have some great looking carp in there! Then they died, that is the end of a tale that had many ups and downs!
seriously though i know there is still a few knocking around in there,it also has a great potential to grow large carp.
Also they used to run up to almost mid 30s,i didnt ever get round to catching them as i got lured away by the small pit down the bottom!!

Sam. Do you know who owns the small pit down the bottom? I know it used to have a few lumps in it....

It's recently been electrofished by the owner and the fish moved.

Bear - that 20 you had is the lake mug fish - chop tail - i know of it getting caught at least 6 times last year and nearly always from the same swim.

Does anyone know how many carp there are in Inworth and what size? I had a look round earlier this week and liked the look of the place. Saw a few fish in the weed but nothing big......

The farmer now owns the bottom pit,but I'm not sure how you contact him, also other people have told me he wants to charge a fortune to let you fish it as well!!
Certainly some nice carp in there still though, the flat lobe common i think is now the biggest in there,I'm pretty sure that the big common has moved on to pastures new!!
It is such an exciting little pond though,i caught some of the fish by leaning over the age and just putting my bait in by hand,i have never experienced such close up fishing anywhere!!
god it makes makes my heart pound just thinking about it!!
Another person who you would be able to ask is a chap called Wayne, dont know his surname, but he lives local and you may bump into him if you were fishing either of the pits there, all i can say about him is he is under 30!!

That would be Wayne Bird but as i said previously it has very recently been electrofished and the carp apparently have been moved.

Yeah i missed that bit!!,they were still in there in the spring though, when was it electro fished?? it was ruined anyway,it was at its best when kelvedon had it,when i was fishing it i used to just fish 0330-0900 never doing full nights really(maybe the odd one) and it was only Wayne that i ever saw down there!!
It wouldnt be the hardest of lakes to find out if there still in there, just sit in the bush for half an hour and you will see!!

I know Wayne Bird and could get hold of him quite easy. There is a group of us who are looking for a lake to open a syndicate on and i just like the look of it but if the Owner is asking alot of money for it then we won't be interested.

I also know Wayne Bird.

The owner is deffo not interested in having anyone fishing it no matter how much money you wave in he's face!! He has plans for the area that don't involve fishing and he certainly doesn't need the money that renting out the lake would generate. No matter what anyone else tells you about a private syndicate etc that have got permission to fish there, it is rubbish - no one has permission. There will be no access to it soon either when he fences it off.

He does have someone 'looking after' the lake for him, so be wary if you intend doing any guesting!

Shame as it looks like a nice lake. I had heard rumours that they were thinking of filling it in,don't know if it is true or not...

Only passing on what he told me when i asked about having a lease on it for the club or having permission to fish it myself - and was told no to both. Not sure if they got the carp when they electrofished it or not but the owner seems to think they did.

If they got them, worthy stock for any lake, mint condition, only bout 6-10 carp, 3 defo thirties.

wonder where they went ???, surprised they didnt develop legs for hungry synidcate owners years ago.

Yes, very very very hard to catch, but that what made them so puka an worthy captures. Not so sure bout the orginal big common going 3 year ago. Was alot of romour the common died and also one of it getting pinched, think locals were trying to keep it 2 themselves. Do know when Kelvedon tryed to get them out, after losing the lease, they managed 1 mirror but was actually moved from small pond season before (abit of a mug, low 20 and think was called scarred or friendly mirror?).

Last year spend some time watching and spotted quite regulary, the weights you quoting are alittle outa date, most of the fish in there I witnessed and photo'd 5/6 year ago. Where coming out at those weights then, with the orginal going 35's, back up (flat lob) 28ish, another common round 24's and biggest mirror 24ish. (The thirty mirror had already passed by them, shame as liked boilie and was a mug fish for this venue).

Really fell for this lake, could never catch them but will never forget "feeding" 2 big commons and the mirror on the drop, very easy to get lost round there for hours.

Hope they are still there, part of the furniture and stunning, old fish.

the bloomin scar mirror was a right pest lol,i had that one 3 nights on the trot,i had the flat lobe at 30lb4oz in 2007 and lost the big common 5 minutes later off of the high bank
it was a mental 3 hour morning session lol, after this though i didnt fish it alot more as i was fishing a pit 100s of miles aways so you probably know better than me...i do hope there all still in there...

best peg is the one with the fish in mate!may sound like a pants answer, but at the end of the day you could go in the "best" swim on the lake and not be near the fish!best thing to do is spend an hour or so walking around looking for the fish, infact until you find them because there isnt much point getting the gear out if you dont find the buggas!
