It would seem that at least one of these guys is actually fishing the water and when another angler (who seems to be fishing alone) has a run they then converge upon them and in general conversation suggest that they know somebody who would give them £40 or £50 for the fish.
At least one of our members felt intimidated enough to return his catch immediately without weighing or
graphing his prize even though it was a PB. If you have been approached in the past or have witnessed such incidents or are approached on any of our waters by people offering money for your catch in the future, please contact any of the committee members listed below.
Please do not attempt to confront these people alone, but if you can, get the make, model and registration of their vehicle so that we can take this up with the Essex Police.
