Rob Smith

Sadly Rob Smith, the owner of E. J. Porter died on Tuesday whilst on a skate fishing trip. Rob is believed to have suffered a massive heart attack, which occured whilst he was actually hooked in to a giant Common Skate out of Oban. Rob had no earlier complaints and the doctors at Oban hospital said his passing was very quick and painless. Rob who used to live in Witham was previously one of my regulars until he bravely became a fellow fishing tackle retailer, he only had one flaw and that was his passionate love of Chelsea F.C. and no doubt he would have been wearing their shirt with pride over the recent few weeks.

Rob will be sadly missed by all uf us who knew him and my condolences go out to his friends and family.
Cheers

OMG, Rob lived about 100 yards from me, so sad, such a cheerful guy in everyday life.

Im deeply saddened by this tragic news, Rob was a wonderful guy and always had a smile on his face especially when it came to Chelsea. I feel some comfort in the fact that he died doing something that he enjoyed and my heart goes out to his family and friends.
